Some of them even pulling through a comeback but most of the comebacks have been in the form of an hero/heroine's father (Bollywood has hero's in general not lead actors), as a villain in some cases. But Big B has been able to do which no other actor has done till date he has been able to pull through with a hero's role and that too with an applaud from the audience. This gives him another generation of fans. Most of the top stars have their fans among people who followed them to their stardom and then slowly saw them fade to obscurity of one role a year and few dialogues too deliver. But with Big B it has been different he has been able to not only play a protagonist but also has taken the courage to do roles which no other actor ever dared of. Thus the new audience the ones in their teens will also recognize with him as they have seen him grow. His second inning is even more interesting and entertaining than the first one. Wish him good luck.

MBA Placements 2007

The stories of fantastic placements of MBAs are running on media these days. The salaries being Quoted are just above the roof. The Category A colleges are 10+ domestic, Grade B 8+, Grade C 6+ lacs per annum. Now what is driving these high salaries, I think the following five factors-

1. The profile of people doing MBA is improving. More and more ppl with experience are doing MBA and they are looking at top 15 colleges depending on their experience quality. Thus the input talent in these MBA Institute is going up. The ppl fresh out of these colleges are capable of taking more responsibilities. They all already aware of the corporate environment. The freshers in these colleges also get a more professional environment improving their quality or attitude toward work. Thus for this more "ready to take it" resource companies are ready to pay more.

2. The already existing MBAs from top institutes who joined IBanks, consultancies abroad in the past few years have been delivering good results at par with the MBA Grads BSchools abroad. This has given them more confidence grads thus they have increased their Intake from Indian Schools. This also relates to the good I Banking Scenario globally thus their requirement for MBAs has gone up and the international salaries are in multiples of indian salaries.

3. Because of reason two above people from top colleges are going after international jobs. This is making the Indian companies which used to pick guys from the top colleges are forced to move to grade B colleges as they cannot match the salaries of foreign recruiters apart from this the traditional Indian Businesses are also witnessing high growth. Thus their incremental managerial power is coming from the Grade B colleges.

4. The high degree of growth in IT/ITES companies which has increased their demand for the MBAs these companies are knowledge driven thus their requirement of MBAs is much higher. These companies which used to go to top few colleges are now scouting for talent in all possible B Schools.

5. The current capacity MBA colleges is low and talent pool availability is low. This is making the Prices to go up. Too many recruiters chasing too many MBAs.

Whatever might be the factor the salaries are improving and so are the Job Profiles.

How long this can continue?

I think till the economic cycle last which definetly will last for next few years. But when it lasts will the salaries go down. Had India been a developed Economy it would have happened. But the growth of Initials salaries will drop then.

Thats my analysis of the situation which I am seeing, and being an MBA and working for last two years and pretty closely following the issue.

Please post ur comments:

Zindagi aur maut to uparwale ke hathon main hai alampanah

Hrishikesh Mukherjee the great filmamaker of all times. The great entertainer of all generations who touched the heart of every cinema viewer with his heart touching films. Be it Guddi, Anand, Abhmaan or Golmaal his films carried a magic without the big sets and loud music. The films were from the life we live and not we aspire for. The characters taken from our friends or someone from our neighbourhood. The films filled with instances we face everyday in our life. But by adding his magic touch he made those instances memorable. He not only entertained, his films also carried a message a very important message, the message of love, compassion, sweetness and fun in life. The films he made still after viewing a thousand times have the power that can make one cry in the last seen of Anand when Rajesh Khanna's character is lying dead and the tape recorder plays " Zindagi aur maut to uparwale ke hathon main hai alampanah, hum sab to rang manch ki kathputliyaan hain jiski dore uparwale ungaliyon mai bandhi hui hai, kab kaun kahan uth jayega koi nahin bata sakta. Ha ha ha........."
Hrishikesh Ji has passed away after playing his role of adding sweetness to our lifes but through his memorable creations he will keep reminding us that life is to live and we should enjoy every moment of it.

Floods, Attacks, God having milk and Sea water turning sweet

The most amazing thing that has happened to India was the issues find their way too fast to talk shows, tv news channels. The way a cola bottle looses its fizz in a few minutes of getting opened the same way the issues loose their fizz in a few days because the news is made for the masses. The TV news channels show what sells, without any committment to the profession. The media is supposed to help irradicate what is wrong in the society. There are many more things to talk and make people aware of not only issues there are many things which people would like to know. There was a documentary on India based on th youth working at call centres it was shown on National Geographic, and it was produced by Canada Film Board. But Indian media has more time to show trivial things.

Every day there is a show like Khauf, Mano YA Mano, Kaal Kapaal Mahakaal showing things like rebirth, old haunted havellis, haunted individuals. Might be these incidents are true but what is the need to promote such things. The only motive I think its to reach to the masses of India who have been believing in such things and the TV shows only reconfirm and solidifies their believes. The TV channels atleast the Hindi news channels are not contributing to the society through these efforts of theirs. I atleast dont think so. If anyone has any other views do put ur comments.

Be careful whose advice you are following

A few days back another busniess magazine came up with a survey on B-School being an MBA one does feels excited to find where does ones alma mater stands. So i picked the magazine and flipped through the pages and this what I realized: A photo of Mr.Bakul Dholakia (IIM A Head)with young IIM A students all dressed in formals. As I moved flipped through a few more pages Another photograph of Mr. Dholakia but now in the dressing is casuals T shirts. I think IIM A not only gives you good education but also gives a good chance to get yourself covered in some photograph of the Business Magazines even before you start your career. Photo shoots seems to be in at B Schools.

Another observation worth mentioning after the first 3 Bschools it was SIBM on the list definetely XLRI, SPJIMR and MDI should understand that they are against stiff competition from SIBM. Might in the last one year miracles are happening at SIBM. Whatever it is IIPM was in the top 20 credos to IIPM u have done it again.

As far as my B-School goes it was not to be found on the list or they already came to know who is going to figure in top 10 and they didnt want to be part of such great competition from SIBM and IIPM.

One advice for people planning an MBA do get in touch with people who are passouts and rely on B School rankings at ur own risk.

This too shall pass

My favorite quote is

This too shall pass.

Another good one

“If you suffer, thank God! -- it is a sure sign that you are alive.” ~ Elbert Hubbard

Found this quote on fizaa's blog http://fizaa.blogspot.com/ it carries alot of meaning.

My favorite song it has many parts which are universaly applicable to everyones life atleast the first few verses

Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
by Baz Luhrmann

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of '99...
Wear Sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience?I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked?.You're not as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts, don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss
Don't waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind?the race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life?the most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds know still don't.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you'll miss them when they're gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't, maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't, maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary?what ever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either ? your choices are half chance, so are everybody else's. Enjoy your body, use it every way you can?don't be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it's the greatest instrument you'll ever own..
Dance?even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they'll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you'll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair, or by the time it's 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen...

Baz Luhrmann is director of Moulin Rouge

Not a great watch i didnt enjoyed it so never read it completely. But the song is certainy great.

Hi Post

Hi,

I want to blog because its hep to blog.
